About the Department

The Ophthalmology Department at AVBRH is dedicated to providing comprehensive eye care to the rural community. The department offers a range of services, including eye exams, treatment for various eye diseases, and surgical interventions such as cataract surgerie, glaucoma management etc. We are equipped with state-of-the-art diagnostic tools, including Fundus Fluorescein Angiography, Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT), Perimetry, Non-Contact Tonometer (NCT), Applanation Tonometer, and Anterior Segment Imaging. Our operation theatres are fully equipped with cutting-edge microsurgical microscopes, teaching aids, and non-contact viewing systems for Retina surgery, Phacoemulsification, Vitrectomy, Keratoplasty, and more. With the support of our efficient Eye Bank team and advanced infrastructure, we perform enucleation and in-situ corneal button removal. Additionally, our Eye Bank has been certified as a Keratoplasty centre. We also screen preterm infants in the NICU for Retinopathy of Prematurity
