Neonatology (NICU) Services at AVBRH Hospital
Our Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) is equipped with the latest technology, including ventilators, defibrillators, and advanced monitoring systems to ensure critical care for newborns. We offer a wide range of specialized services for newborns with various conditions such as premature birth, low birth weight, respiratory distress, and neonatal infections.
  • Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU): Provides advanced life-support care for critically ill newborns, ensuring they receive the highest standard of care in a controlled, sterile environment.
  • Neonatal Intermediate Care: Offers care for newborns who require close monitoring and treatment but do not need intensive life support. This includes babies recovering from illness or surgery.
  • Neonatal Step-Down Care: A transitional level of care for infants who are improving but still need monitoring and support before being discharged from the NICU.
  • Neonatal Transport Service: Specialized transport for critically ill newborns, ensuring safe transfer between hospitals with all the necessary medical equipment on board.
  • Respiratory Support: Comprehensive respiratory care for newborns with breathing difficulties, including CPAP (Continuous Positive Airway Pressure) and mechanical ventilation.
  • Cardiovascular Care: Specialized care for newborns with heart conditions, including monitoring, medication, and procedures like echocardiograms or ECGs to assess heart function.
  • Infectious Disease Management: Expertise in treating neonatal infections, including bacterial, viral, and fungal infections, with appropriate antimicrobial therapy and infection control measures.
  • Nutrition and Feeding Support: Support for feeding premature or ill infants through breast milk, formula, or intravenous nutrition (TPN), ensuring optimal growth and development.
  • Developmental Support: Fostering optimal growth through sensory stimulation, physical therapy, and supportive care to encourage developmental milestones for premature and critically ill infants.
  • Pain Management: Providing appropriate pain relief strategies, including medication and non-pharmacological methods, to ensure comfort for newborns undergoing medical procedures.
  • Family Support and Education: We believe in family-centered care, encouraging active parental involvement in the care of their newborn. We offer emotional support, education on infant care, and breastfeeding support to promote bonding.

Comprehensive Care Approach
  • Our team of skilled neonatologists, pediatricians, nurses, and therapists work together to provide tailored care for each infant, ensuring the best outcomes.
  • Advanced Life Support: We are equipped to provide high-level life support for critically ill newborns, including mechanical ventilation and cardiorespiratory monitoring.
  • Family-Centered Care: We emphasize the importance of parental involvement in the care of their newborn. We support breastfeeding, encourage bonding, and provide education to empower families during their baby's critical care journey.

At AVBRH, our NICU is dedicated to offering the highest level of care, ensuring that every newborn receives the best possible start in life.

Academic Achievements
  • Running a DM COURSES
  • Participation in International Conferences

Equipment (High End)
  • EEG (Electroencephalogram): A diagnostic test that measures electrical activity in the brain to identify seizures, neurological disorders, and brain function in newborns.
  • 2D ECHO (2D Echocardiogram): A non-invasive imaging technique that uses ultrasound waves to create detailed images of the heart’s structure and assess its function.
  • Therapeutic Hypothermia: A medical treatment that involves lowering a newborn’s body temperature to reduce brain injury after conditions like perinatal asphyxia.
  • HFOV (High-Frequency Oscillatory Ventilation): A type of mechanical ventilation that uses rapid, small-volume breaths to help improve oxygenation in neonates with severe respiratory distress.
